As a social enterprise, one of our aims at Graze Market is to contribute to the society. Besides our own operation model which is to recondition rejected fruits and vegetables in order to sell them out at a lower price, we are delving deeper into the grassroots of the society, by reaching out to more underprivileged people and supply them with low-priced fresh produce.
In this mini project, we are targeting the B40 community, which is also known as Malaysian households which are living below the poverty line. We are especially looking at households that are at the bottom level of this community class. PPR Lembah Subang 2 is the first step of our project, in which PPR is known as "Program Perumahan Rakyat". It is located in Ara Damansara, which is a stone's throw away from our store in Sunwaymas Commercial Centre.
For this project, we are working with a freelance community agent who lives in the PPR community. She would be in charge of taking orders of our fresh produce from her community. As a benefit, she would earn a part of our sales as her commission, while being able to "work from home" and have more time with her family. We are glad to be killing two birds with one stone by providing job opportunities apart from supplying low-priced fruits and vegetables to the B40 community.
We hope that our mini project would greatly benefit the B40 community, particularly PPR Lembah Subang 2. With time, we are looking to expand our area of coverage to assist more and more underprivileged people. We would like to call out to all the kind-hearted and generous people out there to support us in any way possible for our good cause!
